Develops HP desktop PC’s for consumer and commercial sale worldwide.

 

As Lead Developer, used MS Excel/VBA to develop and deliver a multi-user internal tool for use by R&D engineers and management to track the status of all parts and processes required for desktop PC new product development from conception to hand off to Production.  This tool consolidates, integrates, and will eventually replace several older tools.  This tool features user-friendly menus and a variety of reports for engineers and/or management.

Develops HP desktop PC’s for consumer and commercial sale worldwide.

 

As Lead Developer, used MS Excel/VBA to develop and deliver Part Tracker spreadsheets and Reporter tool macros which replaced several problem-plagued older tools inconsistently used by HP internal users worldwide.  The new tools offer a far faster, broader, and more consolidated view of desktop PC parts in the HP supply chain by collecting data from several major HP business systems in other US HP locations.  The new spreadsheets and tools facilitated the cleanup of inconsistent, missing, and obsolete data.  This tool includes part trackers, production trackers, and part reports.

 

2005-2008              Contractor at Alpine Research Optics                            Boulder, CO

Manufactures laser optics:  primarily laser lenses for the laser eye surgery industry.

 

Scorecard Reports:  Developed Excel spreadsheet with extensive VBA scripts and SQL queries. 15+ report tabs on the Excel spreadsheet detailed Operations Group reports containing SQL Query-generated tables, pivot tables, and graphs.  Excel report tabs were then summarized as line items on the 1^st or summary (Scorecard) tab. 

 

Business Reports: Developed and/or maintained over 100 Excel spreadsheets with extensive VBA scripts and SQL queries, and Crystal Reports, all with extensive SQL queries for Finance, Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Quality departments that were used at all corporate levels.  Excel spreadsheets and Crystal Reports were used to fix corrupt/missing/invalid data, to show production progress and bottlenecks, to summarize sales and financial activity, to increase scheduling accuracy, and to enhance business decision quality.

 

Physical Inventory: Created ISO 9000:2001-style procedures in MS Word, and managed the entire physical inventory process for a 20,000 part inventory, including monthly cycle counts and semi-annual full inventories on Excel spreadsheets.  Created and produced the Excel inventory reports using extensive VBA scripts and SQL queries, and reconciled the MRP database with the physical inventory.  The entire semi-annual inventory process was reduced from 2 months to 2 weeks.
